Destination Highlight: Bermuda

Are you dreaming of laying out in the sun on a pink sand beach? With daily direct flights just two to three hours from East Coast cities, Bermuda might just be just what you are dreaming of.

If you are a U.S. citizens arriving by air and sea to Bermuda you will only need a valid passport. While BerMuda is not much of a nightlife destination, it does offer visitors a piece of paradise to soak their feet in!

Located in the Atlantic, it’s high season is April through October. During the months of May and September, temperatures range from 75°F to 85°F. While in July and August, the most humid months, temperatures can reach 90°F. November through March are considered it’s off season. Plan accordingly when you visit.
Pink Sand Beach, Bermuda

A rental car isn’t really necessary in Bermuda. The town offers various methods of public transportation such as taxi cabs (download Hitch Bermuda), ferries or buses. Their public buses are color coded pink or blue.

Tip: For buses heading to Hamilton the pole is pink; for those traveling away from Hamilton, the pole is blue.

Tip: You can also take private minibuses, which you flag down, that serve St. George’s. The minibus fare depends upon the destination, but you won’t pay more than $5. Minibuses drop you off wherever you want to go in the parish. They operate daily from about 7:30 am to 11 pm. For more informaTion regarding public Transportation click here.

If you want to visit the beach with the most shade of pink go by the Warwick Long Bay beach.

Tip: if you want a more secluded beach visit Jobson’s Cove in Warwick Parish. It’s a favorite hideaway for many especially those into snorkeling.

After you have soaked in some sun, head over to Pembroke parish’s Royal Naval Dockyard for a place to visit and shop at. Here you can pickup souvenirs and take some great pictures of the town. While there, make sure you don’t miss their Bermuda Maritime Museum. If you are seeking more history, head to the historic town of St. George’s.

If you are in Hamilton, former visitors suggest taking the ferry down to the Dockyard.
