Itinerary For Cebu, Philippines
Getting There
US Citizens must have a valid U.S Passport. The passport must be valid during your whole stay. No Visa is required for stays less than 30 days. For full entry requirements and for travel warnings to specific areas in the Philippines always check HERE.
Lets Talk Money
The currency you will need in The Philippines is the Philippine Peso. Some areas in major cities take the U.S Dollar but to save you the headache, just have local currency on you. Currently 1 USD is equal to 50.3371 PHP. Always know what the peso is valued at when you travel and try to get as close to that as possible when you exchange money. DON’T do it at the airport! Remember the XE APP helps you keep track of ongoing rates.
Lodging
Cebu was a completely different experience for us. We stayed in the heart of the city at Best Western Lux Hotel. It was a very nice hotel with a beautiful rooftop infinity pool. The hotel had all the expected amenities; massages, room service, and fitness center. They included free breakfast and they were very helpful in guiding you to places you wanted to visit and securing transportation for you.
Places To Visit
While in the actual city of Cebu, we didn’t visit many places that are noteworthy. We lived among the locals and just went with the flow. However, while in Cebu we went to Badian to go Canyoneering and visit the amazing Kawasan Falls. This experience was absolutely breathtaking. Badian is about 4 hours from the city of Cebu and this excursion is very easy to book through your hotel or even do on your own by taking a taxi to the location. You can also book through sites such as Viator, get $10 Off for first booking with this link. We chose to book through our hotel for more convenience. You cannot go to Cebu and not experience this!
Other things you can do while in Cebu:
- Fort San Pedro
- Magellan’s Cross
- Basilica del Santo Nino
- Tops Lookout
- Cebu Taoist Temple
- Sky Experience Adventure
- Temple of Leah
All of these can be found in Cebu City and can be done within one day or two. Additionally, you can also swim with sharks in Oslob, enjoy some time in Mactan Island, and have several other options for island hopping. We hope this itinerary helps guide your next visit.
