A Weekend In Las Vegas

Las Vegas has been our backyard for over 15 years now, we visited as kids and we continue to enjoy it as adults. It is about time we share a little guide of how you can spend your time in this little city. Below we go over things to consider for your next trip to the “City of Sin”.

How To Get There
If you are located in the West Coast, Las Vegas is a short flight away or depending on your location a short drive away. From Los Angeles, our drive is about 3-4 hours on a good day. From the East Coast it’s about a 5-6 hour flight.

Where To Stay
There are plenty of choices when it comes to hotels in Las Vegas. We recommend staying on the strip (as pictured below), as that is where you will be spending the majority of your time.

Some hotels, ranging in price, to consider would be: Treasure Island, Paris, Park MGM, The LinQ, Harrahs, Planet Hollywood, Monte Carlo, Mirage, Cosmopolitan, Aria, Caesar’s Palace and The Flamingo.

Note: On our latest visit, Planet Hollywood & Caesar’s palace gave us a hard time about letting guests check-in despite being on the reservation and trying to charge us for an early check-in. It had never happened to us before, we actually really enjoy both of their properties but it’s good to mention it either way just in case you experience something similar.

What To Do
Besides gambling, Vegas is known for their pool parties. Their pool season starts around mid March and ends about mid October. Prices vary depending on the weekend you plan to visit. If you are traveling with a group i highly suggest doing a day bed or a Cabana, nothing beats having your own space in a crowded pool party. For day beds or Cabanas you can contact Johny at (805) 698-6931, just let him know Suzzstravels gave you his contact information.

Some Pool Parties to check out:

DayLight Day Club
Marquee Dayclub
Drais Beachclub
Encore Beach Club
Wet Republic
Tao Beach
Liquid
Rehab

Depending on the hotel you are staying at, you might not have to spend extra money trying to go to a pool party. The pool at the Cesar’s palace had good music playing, a bar and tons of people. Planet Hollywood also has a fun pool with a DJ. The options are endless, just go with what works for your preference and your budget.

  1. Stopped by to look at something else and came across your Vegas post. I love Vegas so I’ll be sure to try out some of the things you mentioned next time I’m out there. Great post.

  2. How much were entry to pool parties? How much would you bring on this trip spending wise thank you!

    1. We didn’t pay for entry to pool parties as on the days we went we either got a day bed or went through a friend but it all depends on the crowd you are going with and how early you get there. Plus depending where you stay, that hotel might give you free access to their day parties. Additionally, you can also meet promoters there that will give you a pass to the party as long as you arrive at their suggested times. For a weekend in Vegas i would recommend at least $200/day budget.
